
Thailand's Buttree Puedpong holds her silver medal for the women's taekwondo -49 kg class at the Beijing 2008 Olympics in Beijing

The famous Olympian from Thailand, Thai Taekwondo fighter Buttree Puedpong. She won a silver medal after defeated Daynellis Montejo of Cuba. She became famous in Taekwondo because she is the second Thai taekwondo former world junior champion exponent to produce an Olympic medal after the girl, Yaowapa Boorapolchai, took home the bronze medal in this same category four years ago at the Athens 2004 Olympics in Athens. And also this was 17 year old Buttree's first ever Olympic appearance.
In the Beijing 2008, she became the fourth Thai to bag medals in Beijing after Prapawadee won the women’s weightlifting 53kg, Manus who has already won at least a bronze following his victory in the welterweight quarter-finals and Somjit who won the gold medal in the flyweight quarter-final from boxing. She inspire and bring a taekwondo became a popular in Thailand.
